CAN-Myanmar involved as a leading organization to election sector through Myanmar general election 2015. And, also conducted many voter education training, election observation training, and election awareness campaigns to the public that collaboration Union Election Commission, local civil society organizations and youth volunteers, and international non-governmental organizations. In 2018 By-election of Myanmar, CAN-Myanmar initiative Inclusive Domestic Election Misson that collaborates with domestic election observers who are LGBTQIA and allies of LGBTQIA of Myanmar and also can cover ten townships and published observation report book to the public.
CAN-Myanmar conducted a series of Sexual Orientation, Gender Identities, Expression, and Sex Characteristics (SOGIESC) awareness training to LGBTQIA community and the public of Myanmar and also supported the series of capacity enhancement training such as intensive advocacy training, project cycle management (PCM) training and Fundraising training to the LGBTQIA leaders and organizations in Myanmar.
CAN-Myanmar documented human rights violations among the LGBTQIA community and published Analysis report of Awareness on Human Rights and LGBT Rights among LGBTQIA and Non-LGBTQIA in Myanmar in February 2018. The LGBTI-Inclusive Observation Mission of Myanmar (LIEOMM) is founded on September 15, 2020, and that collaborates with 20 LGBTI organizations and LGBTI activists around the country. Myanmar’s first-ever LGBTI domestic observation mission is to support free and fair and inclusive, and credible elections in Myanmar. The LIEOMM has received accreditation cards from the Union Election Commission of Myanmar through CAN-Myanmar and will observe Kachin State, Kayin State, Mon State, Shan State, Sagaing Region, Bago Region, Magway Region, Ayeyarwady Region, Mandalay Region, and Yangon Region with 100 LGBTI observers.
